A self-portrait journey by
RED RUBBER ROAD
Red Rubber Road is the shared identity of artist duo AnaHell and Nathalie Dreier currently based between Berlin and Zurich. In their self-portraits, the artists weave performative narratives between the mundane and the surreal, always from an angle laced with ambiguity and playfulness. Faceless and naked bodies are the trademark of their images, in which the role of the individual takes second place to a new and greater common entity. Their work explores how identity can be formed and transformed through relationships, group dynamics and technology.
An illusion of soft flesh and harsh yesterdays
Raw glimpses in intimate frames
Where the dreamlike becomes tangible
And, perhaps, all that is real.
Fata Organa is a selection of their self-portraiture spanning across the last decade. Here, the self becomes fluid and the artists perform as one. It is a glimpse into the shapes and forms that their identity has merged into since they began their unique relationship when they were 12 years old.
